Clinton Seeks To Put Pressure On Trump By Releasing 2015 Tax Return
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill Clinton paid $3.6 million in federal income taxes in 2015 after earning $10.6 million, according to a tax return released by her campaign.

The 2014 return gave voters a glimpse of the political dynasty’s vast wealth, with the Clintons bringing in $28 million that year. Adding an effective state and local income tax rate of 9.0%, the couple’s total tax rate was 43.2%. Trump would be the first presidential candidate in decades not to release his returns. Trump knocked out his only serious challenger Ted Cruz on May 3, 2016 in Indiana’s key primary, winning 53 percent of the vote against 37 percent for the Texas senator, who raised the white flag and surprisingly pulled out of the race.
“Here’s a pretty incredible fact: there is a non-zero chance that Donald Trump isn’t paying *any* taxes”, Ms Clinton tweeted, minutes after releasing her own returns.
“Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine continue to set the standard for financial transparency”, said Clinton’s campaign aide Jennifer Palmieri in a statement. “What is he trying to hide?”.
Meanwhile, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has still not released his tax return.
The move to release the Clintons’ latest recent tax returns puts increased pressure on Trump to do the same.
That document gave only an estimate of Trump’s assets, liabilities and income. They also made $109,000 in interest and dividends. That lets real estate developers swap one property for a very similar one without having to pay capital gains taxes on the original property.
According to their joint return, the Clintons made $10.6 million in 2015, significantly less than the almost $28 million they made the year before when the former secretary of state was still doing paid speaking engagements.
Clinton has shared tax returns for every year going back to 1977.
With Clinton’s 2015 income taxes, she has now released 39 years worth of tax returns throughout her career, CNN reports. Of that number, however, $1 million went to their own Clinton Family Foundation, a separate endeavor from the Clinton Foundation.
The IRS says Trump is free to release his tax returns even while undergoing an audit. The campaign did not respond to messages about whether Pence will release his returns. He did so for the previous 29 years, according to The Washington Post. “. All I have to do is stop funding the Republican Party”.
Clinton once called the TPP the “gold standard” of trade deals when she served as Obama’s secretary of state but announced her opposition to the deal a year ago, saying it did not meet her standard for creating jobs, raising wages and protecting national security. Not all of them.
