“Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for an hour and thirty minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen”, campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said later.

Clinton’s illness struck after she told a crowd at a fundraiser late Friday that “to be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables”.

“I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely”.

Hillary Clinton unexpectedly left Sunday’s 9/11 anniversary ceremony in NY after feeling “overheated” and retreated to her daughter’s nearby apartment.

On Friday, she told donors that “half” of Mr Trump’s supporters are in a “basket of deplorables” – a comment that drew sharp criticism from Republicans. His efforts to raise questions about Clinton’s stamina mirror that strategy.

“Sunday’s events at the September 11 memorial show the importance of having a group of reporters on standby, and close at hand, to cover the potential next president of the United States”, Anne Gearan, the Washington Post political reporter and current chair of the Clinton press pool, told CNNMoney.

There have been many conspiracy theories surround Hillary Clinton’s health and the candidate did not reveal that she had pneumonia on Friday when she found out.

Schumer said he also spoke with Clinton during the event and saw her leave “on her own accord.”?

But some Twitter users agreed with Clinton, referencing remarks by Trump that have been called racist, such as when he described some Mexican immigrants drug dealers and rapists. “Now, some of those folks – they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America”, said Clinton, who was the country’s top diplomat during President Barack Obama’s first term. She later said she regretted applying that description to “half” of Mr Trump’s backers, but stuck by her assertion that he has given a platform to “hateful views and voices”. Dr. Lisa R. Barback said Clinton was examined at her home in suburban NY and “is now rehydrated and recovering nicely”. The 68-year-old’s staff claimed the candidate merely “overheated” (it was 79 degrees in NY at the time of the episode), but videos showed her collapsing en route to her motorcade, losing a shoe and having to be carried into a waiting van. Trump himself has released minimal information about his health.

Or rather it will force Clinton to have a conversation about her health in the race.

The statement did not mention what medicine Trump might be taking or other details typically included in such disclosures. Thanks to the likes of Rudy Giuliani and a small but vocal element of the Republican base, talk of her health had been bubbling over the past week – triggered by a coughing episode she experienced during a Labour Day rally.

“I feel great, but when the numbers come in, I’ll be releasing very, very specific numbers”, Trump said. Trump said in a tweet.

Clinton released a two-page letter outlining her medical condition in July 2015 that sought to reassure Americans about her health after she fell and suffered a concussion at home in 2012 near the end of her tenure at the State Department.

The secrecy surrounding Clinton’s recent health was made all the more notable by doctors who said Sunday that a presidential candidate was an apt candidate for a pneumonia infection, which is commonly treated quickly and effectively with antibiotics. Earlier this year, in relation to the unrelated matter of her personal email, Clinton declared that she was the “most transparent official in modern times”. “So there is an odd way in which [Trump’s] campaign has elevated the profile of some of these groups that are very, I think, dangerous”.
