Clinton tells reporters she’s doing well
Clinton’s physician, Lisa Bardack, said the Democratic contender underwent a chest scan that revealed she had “mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia”.

After the episode, the campaign announced that she had been diagnosed two days earlier with pneumonia, something that had not been made public until then. And Clinton’s campaign has sought to answer questions about the former secretary of state’s health, after Clinton was seen stumbling at the 9/11 memorial event in New York City.
She had been diagnosed with pneumonia Friday, but the campaign informed the public only after the video of an ill Clinton emerged.
Her campaign had been pressed to be more transparent about Mrs Clinton’s health, particularly after it failed to reveal her Friday pneumonia diagnosis until Sunday, when she almost collapsed as she left the Ground Zero site in NY. Clinton’s congestion got worse and she developed a cough, wrote Bardack, saying Clinton was examined again September 9.
Mrs. Clinton said she plans to release more medical information “very shortly”. She also takes a thyroid medication, as well as a blood thinner.
Apart from the pneumonia thing, we now know Clinton had an ear infection earlier this year, and Kaine’s doctor wants him to get more vitamin D. Bardack confirmed that Clinton had apparently ignored her advice to rest over the weekend.
The Trump campaign yesterday released a doctor’s letter saying its candidate is in “excellent physical health”.
After her coughing fit in Cleveland, Clinton casually told reporters on her campaign plane that she was taking more antihistamines.
This is a sharp gain for Mr Trump, who managed only 39 per cent in a similar poll in July, while 46 per cent backed Mrs Clinton.
Dr. William Schaffner, a professor of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University, said that the information suggested Clinton may have had the pneumonia for a longer period, and that she needed a follow-up examination and X-rays to make sure it was responding well to the antibiotics. “She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as president of the U.S.”.
Clinton’s decision to skip the prescribed rest left her “overheated”, “dehydrated” and “dizzy”.
Trump appeared on a television show with Dr. Mehmet Oz and answered questions about his medical history, divulging that he takes statin drugs to treat high cholesterol.
“This is where bigotry leads, and we can’t afford it, not here or anywhere else”, Clinton said.

In Wednesday’s letter, Bardack writes that outside of a few infections during the past year, Clinton is in solid health. He leads Hillary Clinton by 7 points, as she comes in at 32 percent. Now, a Monmouth University Poll shows Trump taking a narrow 2-point lead in Nevada; a Bloomberg Politics poll shows Trump leading Clinton by 5 points in OH; and new CNN/ORC polls show Trump leading in Florida and Ohio. Clinton turns 69 on October 26.
