DEMOCRATIC US presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said at the weekend she would “break up the big banks” if necessary and hold top financial executives accountable.
According to an aide, Clinton will call for the creation of a credit for up to $6,000 in expenses to offset the cost to taxpayers caring for elderly family members. She is also seeking to provide additional Social Security benefits to those who spend time out of the workforce due to caregiving and wants to enhance support for care workers.
Clinton’s campaign says she is committed to not raising but cutting taxes for the middle class and criticized some of Sanders’ proposals, such as his healthcare plan, saying it would necessitate raising taxes on moderate wage earners. She has also promised to extend the American Opportunity Tax Credits to help make college more affordable. He also says he sees an improvement from last election cycle concerning the enthusiasm surrounding her campaign.
Hillary Clinton has been accused of putting on a southern accent during a campaign stop in Memphis. About 400 people attended and Clinton told them her husband is a “fanatic” football fan who’s been following the Iowa Hawkeye’s winning season.
In an interview with the Des Moines Register, Sanders claimed Clinton was short on details when it comes to taxes and family leave.
Increase Caregiver Respite Program: Clinton plans to invest $100 million in the Lifespan Respite Care Act, which authorizes grants to improve respite care access for family caregivers. The proposal is the newest iteration of a long-time Clinton proposal.
Clinton’s proposal is the latest part of an effort by her campaign to focus on tax breaks for the middle class. Clinton pitched a tax cut aimed at curbing high health care costs on Friday in Tennessee.
“The bottom line for me is caregiving takes a lot of love”, Clinton says, “and a lot of challenging experiences that often test one’s emotional and physical well-being”.
“Clinton’s record of looking out for the jobs that union members rely on was the largest factor in the council’s decision”.

“I have always stood with organized labor and working Americans, and I will stand with them and fight for them as president”, she said.
