Clinton to take on Trump’s Atlantic City business record

Bankruptcy “is an effective and commonly used practice in business”, Trump said in a statement Wednesday afternoon, adding that he has “built a tremendously successful business, which has created tens of thousands of jobs”.

Walker said last month he was withholding an endorsement until Trump renounced his comments about a Hispanic judge.

Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, turned the words and record of Donald Trump against him in a brief but detailed repudiation of his life before entering politics, full of lawsuits, bankruptcy and anecdotes of dubious tactics. In the coming weeks, she is expected to highlight “victims” of Trump’s business ventures, including contractors who went unpaid – echoing a strategy Democrats employed successfully against 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney. “He thinks that’s something to be proud of”, Clinton said.

And a USA Today report added this week, “Donald Trump often boasts he made a lot of money in Atlantic City, despite the repeated failures of his casinos there, but what he does not mention is his casino empire’s repeated run-ins with government regulators over broken promises and violating casino rules”.

“All the while, Mr. Trump went about his extravagant lifestyle, never giving any of us a second thought”.

Analysts say even without charges, it could still be a challenge for Clinton’s campaign as she tries to gain the trust of voters.

Her attack on Trump’s business dealings comes as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee has blasted her integrity following an Federal Bureau of Investigation report that criticized her use of private email during her tenure as secretary of state.

“If your governor would start doing his job instead of following Donald Trump around holding his coat, maybe we could really get New Jersey’s economy moving again”, Clinton said, before attacking Trump for the next 15 minutes.

“It depends if she comes here with her own agenda”, he said. Asked if she got special treatment, Ryan said: “Looks like it to me”.

“The trip will highlight Trump’s now-familiar pattern: Trump restructured his debts, padding his own pockets, while investors, contractors, and working people bore the brunt”, the statement said. She said the lawmakers “are anxious to know when he’s going to endorse our nominee” for president, Hillary Clinton.

Clinton “is for the poor, for the middle-class”, said Paci, who sat in a wheelchair.

“The record before us is laced with hyperbole, contradictions and generalities”, then New Jersey Casino Control Commission member Valerie Armstrong said in a 1988 hearing over Trump’s bid to take over Atlantic City’s Taj Mahal. He also blamed Democrats for causing Atlantic City’s economic distress in recent years.

Clinton also made a swipe at Gov. Chris Christie, who quickly endorsed Trump after his failed presidential bid and who is being vetted as a potential running mate.

Even before her speech, Trump sought to blunt Clinton’s criticisms, saying on Twitter: “I made a lot of money in Atlantic City and left 7 years ago, great timing (as all know)”. One commissioner called it “the most unique singular action that has ever taken place out of tens of billions of dollars that have been moved around Atlantic City one way or another”, according to state records.
