Clinton trounces Sanders in SC

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is interviewed as he leaves the spin room after he took part in a presidential debate sponsored by CNN and Facebook at Wynn Las Vegas on October 13, 2015. In an effort to break into what’s shaping up to be a two-person primary race, he suggested that the self-identified democratic socialist is not a loyal member of the party. Rick Perry and Scott Walker both dropped out in September.

At the one-year-out mark of the 2008 cycle, there were still eight eight candidates running for president on the Democratic side and eight on the Republican side.

And more than any other early nominating state, SC is comfortably in Clinton’s column, largely because of black supporters. This led to a discussion regarding the increasing number of people being denied jobs because of credit reports and whether or not Clinton supports Waters’ legislation, which will fix and wipe out credit scores as a job requirement. John Edwards ahead of her.

Later on in the debate, when Clinton was asked about her e-mail and Benghazigate scandals, she insisted the Select Committee on the matter is purely an arm of the Republican National Committee trying to drive down her poll numbers. In a Winthrop poll released Wednesday, Clinton leads at 71 percent of potential voters to 15 percent for Sanders. This time around, the Iowa caucuses are later, on February 1, giving Clinton’s competitors more time to catch her than Obama had.

Clinton brushed off a question about Ben Carson’s suggestion over the weekend that he’s been more closely scrutinized than any other candidate in modern history.

And Clinton has had no trouble hitting back at Sanders when her team deems it necessary. “He’s pulling 10 percent of the African-American vote, doing very poorly among Latinos”.

Like Sanders, O’Malley plans to keep reminding voters of the issues on which Clinton has been slow to embrace positions favored by the left wing of the party. Then, they repackaged it as a rejection of the broader premise that the emails shouldn’t be a huge political issue. Biden would go on to be tapped as Obama’s nominee for vice president, an outcome a few have speculated might also be in store for O’Malley. However, she has now taken a clear position on the issue, and her response may surprise you.

A wild card remains in how Sanders chooses to address Clinton’s use of a private email system while serving as secretary of state. Sanders continued, “The American people want to know if we’re going to have a democracy or an oligarchy, because of Citizens United. I couldn’t be more excited”. Bernie Sanders, who signed his own paperwork here last Thursday.

While Clinton has appeared to solidify her support in the party in recent weeks, she is far from a locking up the nomination. “I said to no to Keystone on Day One”. It’s one thing to evolve and say, ‘Well, I made a mistake.’ It’s another thing to analyze the information and say, ‘You know what? “Also, we think of (endorsements) as a promise of resources, whether they be money, campaign volunteers and an opportunity for another elected official to put their apparatus to work for the candidate they endorse”. After filing, she will hold a rally on the steps of the New Hampshire State Capitol.
