Clinton, Trump Make Final Push Before Election Day

Her main challenger, the Republican Candidate, Donald Trump was, however, not giving up on the email issue repeatedly raising it as he swiped at her in rallies across the major swing states that will determine the outcome. The director’s initial decision to make a renewed inquiry into Clinton’s emails public on October 28 upended the campaign at a crucial moment, sapping a surge in Clinton’s momentum and giving Trump fresh ammunition to challenge her trustworthiness.

Both Clinton and Trump also scrambled to gain an advantage in some newly competitive battleground states as well as lock down others where they have held leads. Global equity markets surged, as did the USA dollar, putting them on track for their biggest gains in weeks as investors saw Sunday’s announcement by Comey as boosting Clinton’s chances of winning. Clinton said she was “hopeful and optimistic” about the future.

The race for the White House as been as unpredictable as any in recent history, and it’s about to come to an end.

After the Florida event, Trump headed to other states that may be essential to his hopes of an Electoral College win: North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and MI.

“This is it folks”, Trump told a screaming crowd in Sarasota, Fla., a state he needs to carry Tuesday.

Instead of spending the bulk of her address during a Cleveland stop bashing Trump, Clinton’s emphasis was on her plans for green energy, infrastructure jobs and college affordability. Predicting he would win, he told supporters in Sarasota that Clinton “is such a phony” and, “We’re exhausted of being led by stupid people”.

The comments were a reminder that FBI Director James Comey’s news, delivered in a letter to lawmakers on Sunday, was a double-edged sword for Clinton.

“It’s between strong and steady leaders and loose cannons who could put everything at risk”, she said. “I’ve been saying it for a long time”, he declared, as his supporters chanted “Lock her up!”

She wrapped up her day Sunday in New Hampshire, where she returned to her onetime call for more “love and kindness” in America.

“We’re feeling very solid going into this last weekend”, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said on NBC’s “Meet the Press”.

Clinton told the crowd that she wants to serve all Americans, including those who haven’t voted for her, and she said that she wants to “build bridges not walls”. “In 9.8 million simulations, Hillary Clinton ended up with at least 270 electoral votes”.

Markets have tended to see Clinton as the status quo candidate, with more uncertainty over Trump.

Clinton’s lead dropped from 5.7 to 2.9 percentage points in the week since the scandal returned, according to influential data website FiveThirtyEight.com.
