Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will have their first opportunity to address questions relating to military service at a forum next week, NBC News announced Thursday.

The forum is taking place ahead of the first official general election debate, which is set for September 26 at Hofstra University.

It’s worth noting that Lauer is listed as a “notable past member” on the Clinton Global Initiative’s website – along with Anderson Cooper and Katie Couric. But while the interview was done at the Manhattan hotel hosting the Clinton Foundation, it was conducted for the Today show, not as part of the conference.

In fact, Lauer has never been a member of CGI, nor has he donated any money to the organization.

“Matt Lauer was not and is not a Clinton Global Initiative member”, an NBC News spokesperson told the publication.
