Clinton, Trump win in Washington state
While some of their fellow students protested Hillary Clinton’s Tuesday, May 24, appearance at UC Riverside, about 20 members of the campus Highlanders for Sanders club joined the throng to hear the Vermont senator’s speech in downtown.

This is sometimes forgotten, but for much of Bill Clinton’s presidency, he was popular with Democrats, but not that popular.
Sanders’ campaign says it will seek a recanvass in last week’s Kentucky primary, where he trails Clinton by less than one-half of 1 percent.
In California, Clinton hopes to make a statement in a contest that will effectively end the primaries and encourage the party to coalesce around her candidacy. There were no delegates at stake in the Democratic primary.
Female voters continue to flock toward Clinton, as the former secretary of state now has increased her lead with the ladies by 18 points. But he started off the day at Fresno State. Donald Trump’s numbers indicated that 54 percent of Florida registered voters now have an unfavorable opinion, 38 percent having a favorable opinion and eight percent unsure. Instead, she focused on Trump, trying to use the presumptive Republican nominee’s words against him.
Sanders, who had already accepted Fox News’ invitation, said in a statement that he was “disappointed but not surprised” by Clinton’s unwillingness to debate prior to California’s primary. It takes 2,383 delegates to win the Democratic nomination.
Donald Trump, addressing several thousand screaming fans at the Anaheim Convention Center, on Wednesday seized on the release of a government report critical of Hillary Clinton’s handling of emails as secretary of state and vowed to “make a big, big play for California”. The same poll found both Democrats well ahead of Trump in general-election matchups.
Entering the final contests in June, Clinton leads Sanders by 271 pledged delegates according to a count by The Associated Press, but the self-described democratic socialist has vowed to soldier on and amass as many delegates as possible. Clinton said if fighting for equal pay, paid family leave, a higher minimum wage and affordable child care is “playing the woman card, then deal me in”.
The Democratic National Committee announced on Monday that it would allocate on a proportional basis the majority of its chairs to the party’s platform drafting committee. These worries are misplaced: If anything, the primaries have been far too gentle, with both Clinton and Sanders refraining from truly devastating attacks.
But now Fox’s executives can say they tried – and its conservative-leaning hosts and commentators can criticize Clinton for the snub.

As Clinton addressed the crowd he spoke in support of his wife and talked about her plans if elected president.
