Clinton: Unfair ‘Hillary Standard’ on Trust and Honesty
Donald Trump got a slight bump in support across battleground states following the Republican National Convention and has pulled ahead of Democrat Hillary Clinton, according to new polling out Sunday. Well, sort of. On the issue of the Republican National Convention’s anti-Hillary theme, Kaine, who oozes positivity, said, “When I see this, you know, ‘Crooked Hillary, ‘ or I see the, ‘Lock her up, ‘ it’s just ridiculous”.

“I’m not going to engage in that kind of insult-fest that he seems to thrive on”, Clinton, who will be anointed the Democratic nominee this week, said in a brief excerpt from an interview for CBS’s “60 Minutes” that the network released on Sunday. Tim Kaine of Virginia to be her running mate. Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey led a mock trial of Clinton over her past policies, with the crowd responding “guilty” in response to his “charges”.
“People are very willing to say things about me, to make accusations about me that are, I don’t get upset about them anymore, but they, they are very regrettable”, she said. “It was a very dark, divisive campaign”, said Clinton.
“So whatever he says about me, he’s perfectly free to use up his own air time and his own space to do. That’s my belief”, said Kaine, adding, “There’s going to be room to make some things happen”. “I’ve already put him on notice. We want you in the party, we want you in the room but here’s your hat what’s your hurry, what’s is this message coming from the party, the top of the party?”
Instead, Clinton said, she was going to talk about Trump’s failed business ventures, his comments on women, immigrants and the disabled, and his “really inflammatory language” about Muslims. “But I think I have this old fashioned idea that when you are asking people to vote for you, it is kind of like a big job interview, and you ought to tell people what you think you can do for them”.
But, Clinton added, she put herself through it all because of her faith in the country.
‘Boy, do I believe in it now more than ever after seeing what was presented last week, ‘ she said.
It wasn’t just Trump and the Republicans that Clinton talked about, taking plenty of time to praise her newly-announced running mate Kaine.

Kaine, the Virginia senator and former governor who held his first joint rally with Clinton on Saturday in Miami, credited Clinton with letting “water go off her back on this”. And the people who were speaking were painting a picture of our country that I did not recognize ― you know, negative, scapegoating, fear, bigotry, smears. Other high-profile speakers include first lady Michelle Obama, former President Bill Clinton and Vice-President Joe Biden.
