Clinton verbally places half of Trump supporters in “basket of deplorables”
She did add that Trump’s other supporters are frustrated by hard times and merit sympathy.

In a statement on Saturday, Ms Clinton apologised for having been “grossly generalistic”, explaining: “I regret saying “half” – that was wrong”.
Her comments led to a firestorm of critcism, even from some Democrat commentators and on Saturday she backtracked, saying that she regretted saying “half”.
She specified that she believes the word “deplorable” was reasonable to describe much of Trump’s campaign. The Trump campaign quickly punched back, saying that Mrs. Clinton had revealed “her true contempt for everyday Americans”.
“The nominee on the other side promises to do things that will make us less safe”, Clinton told reporters at a news conference on Friday afternoon.
Half of Donald Trump’s supporters fall into a “basket of deplorables”, according to Hillary Clinton.
“She was blaming Matt Lauer”, Trump said of Clinton.
On Saturday, Mr. Pence countered that Mr. Trump’s base of support is comprised of hard-working Americans, including farmers, coal miners and military veterans.
Trump also posted on Twitter in response to Clinton’s attack on his supporters, saying it was “so insulting”.
Additionally, according to a Real Clear Politics poll on August 31, only 14 percent of the electorate is undecided-meaning the amount of voters she could potentially alienate is fairly small. Trump said this week that he does indeed have a plan, but would convene military leaders in his first 30 days in office to craft another plan.
Finally, if the Dems are “increasingly anxious that Hillary Clinton has not built a formidable lead against Donald Trump despite his historic weaknesses as a national party candidate”, Hillary and Bill, who insult average Americans out on the campaign trail, are not. Hillary Clinton’s low opinion of the people that support this campaign should be denounced in the strongest possible.
“She could walk into this arena right now and shoot somebody with 20,000 people watching, right smack in the middle of the heart and she wouldn’t be prosecuted”, he declared.
Mrs Clinton called the North Korea test “outrageous and unacceptable”, saying she supports imposing additional U.S. and United Nations sanctions.
Those people, Mrs Clinton said at the event, could be open to persuasion. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people – now how 11 million.
But it didn’t take long for observers to link Clinton’s statement to when then-Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney essentially dismissed half of the American electorate during the 2012 election, arguing they will vote for President Barack Obama “no matter what”.
Clinton on Friday night broke Trump supporters down into two groups, one of which she called the “basket of deplorables”.
“Personally, I think she’s an unstable person”, he said.
“She gave an entire speech about how the alt right movement is using his campaign to advance its hate movement”, Merrill tweeted.
But the moment recalled comments about voters – also at private fundraisers – that have tripped up presidential nominees in the past. “This was Clinton, as a defender of Washington’s rigged system – telling the American public that she could care less about them”.

In 2008, Obama said voters “cling to guns and religion”, a comment that caused many to paint him as an elitist. However, she added that she would continue to speak out against what she said was intolerance on the campaign trail.
