Clinton vs. Sanders: Delegate fight moves to state convention
Trump’s potential to resonate among voters in communities hit hard by a lagging economy extends to parts of southwestern Pennsylvania surrounding Pittsburgh, where Democrats see a special need to focus on steering voters away from Trump. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., a supporter of front-runner Hillary Clinton and broker of the post-primary peace between Clinton and then-Illinois Sen. “More importantly than that he keeps winning states”.

The contests to decide the nominees of America’s two main political parties, the Democrats and the Republicans, for the presidential election are all but over.
He said he would continue his fight till the end of the primary season.
“I hope Senator Sanders’ supporters heed his call for an orderly and respectful Nevada State Democratic Party Convention”, Reid said.
Sanders has now won 20 Democratic contests and 1,430 delegates. Even though the former Secretary of State still maintains a significant advantage, the victories gave Sanders a great momentum, allowing him to be optimistic about the upcoming primaries, in Kentucky and Oregon.
For most Democrats (54%), though, a Sanders endorsement is important to their vote, with 33% who say it’s Very Important. “And I think what every delegate to the Democratic National Convention wants, most importantly, is to defeat Donald Trump”. While delegates are supposed to vote for the popular vote victor, superdelegates can vote any way for any reason.
The recent controversies come after the Washoe County Democratic Convention went relatively smoothly, but the Clark County Democratic Convention was marred by long wait times and some controversy when the county party’s credential chair, Christine Kramar, was suspended following allegations from the Clinton campaign that she was biased. The examples of independents rushing towards Sanders during primaries and caucuses are almost endless (69% in Oklahoma, 69% in Iowa, 73% in New Hampshire, 53% in SC, 55% in Florida, and 72% in New York). The total superdelegate count is eye popping when compared to the popular, pledged vote count. “It wasn’t quite the same in the sense you never saw Clinton got to be a better candidate, got more enthusiasm as the race went on”.
“Whatever the numbers say, people don’t feel as economically secure as they did, say, in the 1990s”, said Joe Zepecki, a former communications director for Obama’s 2012 Wisconsin campaign.
Democrats remain deeply divided between Clinton and Sanders camps. Sanders is a lifelong Independent who is now running for the presidency under a Democratic platform.
“After a tough primary, that’s going to take some effort”, Ryan said about unifying the party.
“He could win by losing if he chooses the right tack”, Schale said.
California’s Democratic primary is June 7, the final race on the presidential primary calendar. That feeling has creeped into the state party as well.
Republicans also worry that Trump could be defeated badly enough to cost them control of the Senate and cut their majority in the House of Representatives. Party officials said potential delegates were disqualified because they didn’t show they’d met the voter registration requirements or didn’t provide sufficient identification information.

He further told her that taking on the Democratic establishment is a “steep hill to climb, but we’re going to fight for every last vote that we can get, every delegate that we can get, and that’s what I intend to do in the next month, five weeks”.
