Clinton, Warren hold strategy session about running against Trump

US Senator Elizabeth Warren was all smiles as she left a meeting at Hillary Clinton’s home in Washington on Friday. “If you really want to electrify the base you’ve got to get somebody who’s been speaking to the base and is going to turn the base out”, said Rep Keith Ellison, D-Minn., one of Sanders’ top supporters in Congress.

Clinton told NPR moments after the endorsement that she was “thrilled” to have it and noted that she and Obama started as fierce competitors in 2008 but became close colleagues and friends.

Clinton has said she did not send or receive any information that was marked as classified and has accused the State Department and other government agencies of “over-classifying” her emails after a judge ordered them released to the public.

Even on YouTube, a chunk of Bernie Sanders’ supporters vented their ire on Warren’s decision to endorse Hillary Clinton.

It nearly went unnoticed, but in a nine-word tangent, Vice President Joe Biden has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.

She shares Mr Sanders’ dislike of superdelegates, who are typically long-time Democratic officials and activists.

“Well, Donald, those days are over”, she said.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden also announced their support of Clinton on Thursday, handing her a trio of endorsements expected to boost her standing heading into the general election campaign.

“She maintained her neutrality in the primary and that gave her a special space”, said Senator Richard Durbin of IL.

The confab came a day after Warren, a progressive firebrand and outspoken Donald Trump critic, endorsed the former secretary of state and blasted Trump as “thin-skinned” during a legal forum near the White House.

Twenty-four years later, Hillary should follow her husband’s lead and disregard any criticism that her running mate should not be like her, a wonky white woman from the Northeast.

Trump, who is also scheduled to hold events in Washington on Friday, said Warren was one of the ‘least productive US Senators, ‘ adding in a tweet: ‘Hope she is V.P. choice’. And the Sanders supporters who now say they would vote for Clinton in the fall, 70% say it’s because they don’t like Trump, and not because they like Clinton. Warren has a clean slate that will make it a lot easier for her to put her full weight behind the Clinton campaign. Well, they said that eight years ago, as well. You don’t get any brownie points from me and other progressives for getting into a Twitter war with Mr. Donald Trump. As many Sanders voters dislike the Democratic Party as like it.

Clinton is now counting on the president to help bring those voters on board.

More to the point, having not just one, but two women campaigning against him doubles the odds that Trump, who clearly can not stand the idea of women talking back to him, completely loses his shit.

“Every woman and everyone who cares about women”, she said, “will answer them when they vote in November”.
