Did Donald Trump encourage gun rights supporters to use violence or political power against Hillary Clinton?
But Trump has insisted that no such conversation ever happened, and accused CNN of making up the report.
CNN kept the controversy going Wednesday evening with a claim that Secret Service officials warned Trump’s campaign about the remarks.
“Yesterday, we witnessed the latest in a long line of casual comments from Donald Trump that crossed the line”, she said, citing “his casual inciting of violence”.

Mr Trump later maintained he never advocated violence and his words were twisted for political purposes.
Sands says he thinks most people don’t take Trump’s comments seriously, and that his many controversial comments are more attention-seeking than actual threats.
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will release her 2015 tax returns “in the coming days”, a source close to the campaign tells CBS News.
Trump Texas fundraising co-chairman Gaylord Hughey called the interpretation of his remark as condoning violence “ridiculous” and “ludicrous”. About one-fifth of registered Republicans said they want Trump to drop his presidential bid entirely.

The supreme court has become a critical election issue since the death earlier this year of Justice Antonin Scalia, a conservative who has not yet been replaced. “To think that joking about any kind of violence could be amusing. simply reflects a disregard for the impact of violence”.
