Clintons made $10.6M in 2015, tax returns show
The filing shows that the Clintons paid a federal tax rate of 34.2 percent in 2015. Speaking fees continued to make up two-thirds of the Clintons’ income, but dropped to $6.7 million from nearly $20 million in the year prior.

The Clintons also donated $1 million to the non-profit foundation that bears their name.
While both candidates have questioned free trade deals, there’s a “lack of nuance and gray areas when Trump talks”, Black added.
Trump has repeatedly rebuffed calls to release his most recent tax returns because they are under federal audit.
Trump, for his part, has refused to release his returns – something no major party presidential candidate has done since Richard Nixon.
Her campaign tweeted Friday afternoon that Trump “might be” paying $0 in taxes.
“When countries break the rules we won’t hesitate to impose targeted tariffs”, Clinton said.
Meanwhile, Trump talked about rejuvenating the USA coal and steel industries but made no mention of IT. Clinton is “the candidate of the past”, he said. And on Friday, her vice presidential pick, Tim Kaine, followed suit, and released his tax returns for the last decade.
Trump surrogates point to the fact that Trump did release an estimate of his income when he ran for president in the form of financial disclosure forms that are required to seek the office in the first place.
Democrats believe Trump’s returns could be a trove of politically damaging information. “His tax rate is as low as possible, as many deductions as possible, to build his business so that he could provide jobs in his corporation”.
Hillary Clinton revealed her tax return figures while Donald Trump still refuses to.
“One of the things Donald Trump could do to actually make America great again is make things in America again”, she said.
In 2015, Kaine and Holton had a total income of about $313,000. They gave 9.8 percent of their adjusted gross income to charity. Bill Clinton earned $10 million from speeches and $4 million in book sales that year, but their combined income dropped to $5.5 million in 2008.
But billionaire Mr Trump has declined to release his, arguing that his tax returns for the past several years are being audited.
President Obama said that the Republican nominee was “unfit” to serve as president due to his inflammatory statements of Kzhir and Ghazala Khan, a Gold Star family whose son died protecting his fellow soldiers, and his lack of basic knowledge on important policy issues. The campaign did not respond to messages.
Clinton reiterated her opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which Trump is also against.
Also in 2010, Bill Clinton was appointed honorary chairman of a nonprofit associated with Gems Education, which is based in Dubai and operates mainly in the Middle East.
Documents show the Clintons paid $3.24 million in federal income taxes in 2015, with their total federal and state tax burden amounting to 43.2 percent – down from 45.8 percent in 2014.

The bulk of their income came from speeches delivered to corporate and interest groups, which paid Bill Clinton and later Hillary Clinton after she resigned as secretary of state in early 2013.
