Clippers’ Blake Griffin out 4-to-6 weeks after breaking hand
It was later revealed he fractured his right hand from punching team equipment manager Matias Testi Saturday night during the team’s visit to Toronto, an injury the Clippers confirmed Tuesday.

ESPN reports Griffin will be sidelined for four to six weeks after getting into a fight with the team’s equipment manager at a restaurant in Toronto.
A source told Shelburne that the National Basketball Association is investigating the incident and Griffin could face league discipline. Griffin took to Twitter, posting a picture of a long paragraph explaining Griffin regretting his actions and apologizing to fans and the team for creating a distraction. After holding the Pacers to 17 fourth-quarter points, 5 of 16 on 3s and forcing 17 turnovers, Redick said it was “good to see”.
The team said Griffin underwent a procedure on his hand Tuesday after being sent back to Los Angeles from the Clippers’ five-game road trip. “This type of stuff shouldn’t happen, but it did and it’s real life and you have to deal with real-life stuff sometimes in our make-believe world”.
FILE – This is a January 13, 2016, file photo showing Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin on the bench during the first half of an National Basketball Association game against the Miami Heat, in Los Angeles. The Clippers are set to play the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis Tuesday before facing the Hawks in Atlanta Wednesday and the Los Angeles Lakers Friday.
Griffin has already missed a month of games because of a quadriceps injury.
“I always say, four to six weeks with a broken hand is unrealistic, I’ll tell you that”, he said, according to Bolch of the Times. “It’s frustrating. We don’t want it to happen to anyone”.
“It’s tough, I don’t know much about it”, Paul said, noting he had spoken to Griffin once since the incident in Toronto. Sources close to the situation said late Monday that the Clippers are still evaluating the severity of the new injury but are expected to provide an update Tuesday. The big question remains whether Griffin has a short fuse with people, friends, or team members, or is this part of a bigger issue with his demeanor. Then the incident apparently trickled outside, where Griffin reportedly struck him again. The Clippers have won 11 games and have only lost three while Griffin has been out.
The misdemeanor battery case was later dropped after prosecutors decided there was insufficient evidence.
