Aldrich filled in with a solid performance.

Several of those assists were to back-up center Cole Aldrich who started in the place of the ill Jordan. “I’m telling you, we’re going to win this game”‘. “He rolled himself to the basket, he got his body in position and he made shots”. The Miami Heat were without Goran Dragic and saw a poor shooting night from Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. However, 11 turnovers by the Heat to only three for the Clippers in the first half didn’t help their cause.

Cousins scored 32 points in the 111-104 home loss October 28 but just 13 in a 114-109 defeat at Los Angeles three days later. As the game wore on, the Clippers realized Aldrich’s beefy frame posed problems for the Heat’s lighter frontline inside.

While it’s hard to argue with L.A.’s success on offense this season when their Offensive Rating is fifth best in the league at 107.6, with Jordan’s athleticism and size, the Clippers might benefit from having him set some more screens for Paul in the pick and roll, and maybe even letting him touch the ball in the post a few times every other game. Griffin missed his ninth contest with a partially torn left quad tendon but Jordan’s absence was a surprise before the game when it was revealed he had pneumonia. He is questionable for Saturday when the Clippers (26-13) host the Sacramento Kings at 7:30 p.m.at Staples Center.
