“Burning down shit ain’t going to help nothing!”

Family members of a man shot and killed by a Milwaukee police officer acknowledged the man’s criminal past but said he didn’t deserve to be killed. We need our sh*t! We need our weave. Patrick Smith spoke with Fox 6 WITI, saying “I’ve gotta start with my kids and we gotta change our ways, to be better role models”.
As it turned out, Smith wasn’t asking for peace, she was asking for peace in their neighborhoods and around their businesses, but everything outside of that – namely the suburbs – appeared to be fair game.
Sylville Smith (pictured) was killed by a police officer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday.
The latest fatal officer-involved shooting of an African-American man has the Milwaukee community in an uproar, but the father of the 23-year-old victim says he feels he’s partly to blame for his son’s life being cut short.
Stanmeyer said he had an arrest record, and that the handgun he carried had been stolen in a March burglary in suburban Waukesha.
But video captured of the same vigil by a Twitter user reveals that Smith’s message wasn’t “don’t bring the violence” as much as it was “don’t bring the violence here”.
“The boy knew my brother personally from high school”. You knew exactly how my brother was and you shot and killed him, ‘ Sherelle added.
“If my brother did have his gun in his hand, why he didn’t shoot back?” Why not go out with a big bang?’ asked Smith.
CNN anchor Carol Costello said on-air Wednesday that she regretted that the second part of Smith’s statement was left out.

At a memorial service on Sunday, people called for an end to the violence in the community. I don’t want anyone to be violent, ‘ Sherelle said.
