Coach Rohr Resumes Role As 20 Eagles Train In Uyo

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the encounter which is best described as a “dead rubber” is Rohr’s first official assignment as Eagles technical adviser.

Newly appointed Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has arrived the camp of the team ahead of Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania after landing in Uyo on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the NFF, Rohr arrived the team’s Le Meridien Hotel around noon and had a meeting with his assistants, backroom staff and players available.

He went straight to work as he conducted his first training session with the players.

“Rohr said he wishes to fully ascertain the match fitness of his call-ups as well as have a practical measurement of the size of the pitch of the Akwa Ibom International Stadium”.

Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel, Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa, Watford’s Odion Ighalo and Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho made the session.

Ibitoye said that the usual morning and evening training session had begun as Rohr had resolved to build a formidable squad for the country ahead of future global engagements.

Moses Simon and Kingsley Madu are scheduled to join camp on Wednesday, August 31.
