COAS reiterates resolve to thwart any attempts at impeding CPEC

Army Chief General Raheel Sharif said the Amry’s one day ration should be donated for flood affectees.

While addressing at Chinese Army’s 88th Anniversary ceremony held here on Friday, General Raheel Sharif said that Pakistan and Chinese army would squeeze space for state and non-state actors who wish to play with security of the region.

The COAS said that recent strides, holistic concept of CPEC speaks its volumes. “Hope the entire world looks at CPEC through the same lens”.

He expressed hope that work on the project would be completed in the stipulated time and also reaffirmed the resolve to foil any attempt to obstruct it. He said, “Pakistan Army and People’s Liberation Army (PLA) form an edifice of our strategic relations”. Will defeat nefarious designs of forces detrimental to us.

The army chief appreciated the sacrifices rendered by People’s Liberation Army. He had visited site of the project and the pace of work was in full gear, he added. Eliminating the East Turkistan Independence Movement is its manifestation. He reviewed the army’s relief efforts in flood-affected areas and directed all those involved in the relief activities to act first and report later.

General Raheel Sharif said that rapid progress is underway for completion of CPEC.

Torrential rains and flooding have killed 81 people in Pakistan over the past two weeks and affected nearly 300,000, the disaster management agency said Tuesday, warning of more bad weather to come. More than a hundred villages have been affected by floods in various districts of Punjab whereas 200 villages along the River Indus have been evacuated.
