The search for three missing boaters in the Keweenaw Peninsula area continues.

The Coast Guard search continued into Monday with the Coast Guard Cutter Bonito, Station Point Judith, and an aircraft from Air Station Cape Cod all participating in the search.

The Coast Guard was informed Sunday that the pair failed to return from an offshore fishing trip near Block Island, about 13 miles south of mainland Rhode Island.

Linda Carmen and her son, Nathan, left Ram’s Point Marina in Point Judith on Saturday night on a 32-foot aluminum center console boat.

The Coast Guard had dispatched its ship Amartya apart from its hovercraft to search for the missing fisherman, the release added.

South Kingstown Police said the Carmans are from CT, and that Nathan Carmen is now living in Vermont. Additionally, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management is searching near southern Narragansett Bay.

Tuesday’s call came in around 8:30 a.m. from the same location, he said, and the Coast Guard sent out a 47-foot boat and, again, found no problems, this time after an hour-long search.
