An Arizon runner barely makes it back to the bag during game 1 of the College World Series Final. “The NCAA made the decision to play the game at 1 p.m. ET”. Just dreaming of that in my head since I was 10 years old, hitting a home run in the College World Series.

One day after the Chanticleers defeated Arizona in the College World Series to claim their first NCAA baseball title, Coastal Carolina takes its place in the Sun Belt. It was the first win in the first CWS appearance for the Chants.

Zach Remillard powered the offense, by driving in both runs for the Chants.

Coastal Carolina University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the baccalaureate, master’s, specialist, and doctoral degrees.

Fans rushed to CCU’s dugout after the game to celebrate their CWS champions.

And for much of the afternoon, we got exactly the game that we would have expected from arguably the two most effective pitchers during the course of the CWS.

Coastal Carolina made a regional in all but two years from 2001 to 2016.

G.K. Young’s sixth-inning, two-run home run provided the necessary buffer to give the Chanticleers the title in their first trip to Omaha.

Coastal lost to TCU and powerhouse hitter Luken Baker, but rallied to defeat Texas Tech in an elimination game to keep their season alive. “You’re a really good team that can win a national title”. Ramer couldn’t get a handle on a grounder, allowing Parrett to score from third. Anthony Marks, Connor Owings and Billy Cooke also picked up RBIs.

Though Gilmore liked this team coming into the season, he didn’t necessarily see a national championship coming. It’s not easy winning a postseason series after losing the first game whether it’s college or professional. Haug had entered the game in the seventh inning after Salazar got hurt.

For the first five innings, neither Coastal Carolina nor Arizona were able to score. He finished 3-4, just a triple short of hitting for the cycle.

A crowd of 18,823 filtered in throughout the game, which had been postponed from Wednesday because of inclement weather.

But Coastal Carolina broke through by scoring four times in the sixth, and hung on from there.

Ryan Aguilar went 2-4 with 2 RBI for the Wildcats, and Cody Ramer scored two of the team’s three runs.

And no we return you to our regularly scheduled Fourth of July weekend, where things are gonna get weird in Myrtle Beach*.

Nearly had a heart attack, it came down to two men on base and two outs, and a full count. Three of those wins occurred during the CWS.

Mike Morrison keyed the way for Coastal.

Blythewood’s Andrew Beckwith registered the Championship win, pitching 6.2 innings. “It was the play of the year in college baseball”.
