Coldplay announce release date for new album A Head Full Of Dreams
In an interview Friday morning with BBC Radio 1, Chris Martin described the new album as “the sound of us being free and happy and very grateful to be in our group”, and that becomes evident on “Adventure of a Lifetime”, a swirling, hypnotic dance track.

It takes just a couple of listens to realise that Adventure of a Lifetime could be Coldplay’s most addictive single to date. It’s called A Head Full of Dreams, and it features several guests including Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo, and Merry Clayton.
A Head Full Of Dreams has been produced by Norwegian duo Stargate, consisting of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, alongside the band’s long-time collaborator Rik Simpson.
Coldplay’s Ghost Stories was the fourth bestselling album of past year, selling 3.7 million copies, but Martin hopes A Head Full of Dreams will be a “more colourful, more joyful sort of thing”.
The singer also revealed that the record had only been “handed in” to the record label three weeks ago. We always wanted it to come out before the end of this year and it gradually moved later and later throughout the year but we just didn’t want to give up on that.
“Themselves’d still be working on it if somebody said we could be”, joked drummer Will Champion.
Coldplay’s last record “Ghost Stories” arrived back in 2014 and spawned a string of singles including “Magic” and “Midnight”.

Speculation over whether this will be the band’s final LP first surfaced previous year, when Chris told the BBC that it was ‘like the last Harry Potter book or something like that’. I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. “Otherwise we wouldn’t place everything into it”.
