Coldplay lets Beyonce, Bruno Mars overshadow band

Beyonce starred along with Bruno Mars and Coldplay for the halftime show at Super Bowl 50 Sunday night, and now at least one of them is coming to Minneapolis later this year.

Minutes later, the Grammy victor announced “The Formation World Tour.” with pre-sale tickets for Beyhive fan club members and American Express Card Members are available February 9 while tickets for everyone else go on sale February 16.

And then there was Taraji P. Henson.

Tonight during her halftime performance, following an opening medley from Coldplay and Bruno Mars, Beyoncé performed her new song and paid homage to Michael Jackson. She later deleted the sentiment, but you can see the remnants in the Twitter roundup below. Mars, you might recall, was reportedly offered the halftime show last fall – it would’ve been his second such gig in three years – and you just know all the league wanted was a live performance of 2015’s most inescapable single.

Still others are tweeting the fact that Beyonce’s tour information on her website can’t be accessed because she broke the Internet. Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, said the halftime show celebrates the past, present and future.

On the same weekend before hitting the stage, Queen Bey dropped new track, Formation, whipping the Bey Hive around the world into a frenzy. Then it was time for Bruno Mars, who took over the show with “Uptown Funk”.

The singer emerged as a special guest to sing her surprise single “Formation” in the middle of the field. Bruno, you’re a star as always.

But instead of letting gravity bring her down, Beyoncé recovered like a true queen and jumped back up.
