Coldplay to Play Super Bowl 50 Halftime

Speaking of their upcoming date, frontman Chris Martin said: “We are so excited and honored and thrilled to be playing the halftime show”. “We’re working on it, and hope we can change their minds soon”. Beginning Jan. 11, a digital mini-series, “Pepsi Presents: The Super Bowl Halftime Show Show” will launch on Pepsi.com offering fans an exclusive, all-access view of what it takes to create the biggest music event of the year in the middle of the biggest sports event of the year, Super Bowl 50.

This year’s viewing figures showed the American football extravaganza was watched by 114 million people.

The NFL is due to announce the halftime performer Thursday night during the prime-time matchup between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.

The Wall Street Journal reports Beyonce is “in talks” to make an appearance during Coldplay’s performance as well.

And Mike Pache, from Scotsdale, Arizona, said: “Really not a fan of Coldplay doing the SuperBowl”.

The band’s latest album “A Head Full of Dreams” is out this Friday, Dec. 4.

It was broadcast live on Annie Mac’s show with tracks including Viva La Vida, A Sky Full Of Stars and Fix You.

“You’re singing sounds so great” Chris told the crowd during Fix You.

At the end of the concert Martin brought the band’s manager on to the stage and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him.

The first single release, “Adventure of a Lifetime”, has had generous airplay for weeks and ranks in the German Top 20. She worked with Coldplay on its new album. The 27-year-old Grammy Award-winning performer has seven records to her name, with an upcoming record that will most likely match the success of her previous releases. Also featured are Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher of Oasis and R&B legend Merry Clayton.
