Talks are underway, however, and with all of the Justice League Dark news we’ve been hearing lately, I suspect that it’s just a matter of time before Warner Bros. starts making a few official announcements. But we have to remember that this is merely a shortlist, and that does not mean that either Alvarez or Keshales & Papushado are the only possibilities to direct the movie.
Del Toro, who also wrote the screenplay of the movie, had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts with the production of “Pacific Rim 2”. As you can tell by their credits, both sets of directors clearly know how to handle horror, and for a movie like Justice League Dark, thats key.

If you took a late night journey into the back-alley of the DC universe, chances are you’d find all sorts of weirdness lurking about. If anything, it will be akin to what Marvel is doing with Doctor odd. However, the studio is still excited enough about his script and wants to make the project a priority. del Toro’s script includes the titular team which members are Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and Etrigan The Demon.
