Colin Kaepernick: Decision to sit stirs emotions
In some other quarters, people are praising the biracial QB (obviously raised well by Rick and Teresa Kaepernick) for taking a stand against state sanctioned violence against black people in this country and getting away with it.

Kaepernick said that oppression against minorities in America has prompted him to take a seat during the National Anthem.
“I have to stand up for people that are oppressed”, Kaepernick said.
LEE: Yes, it’s in that tradition of black athletes standing up, saying I’m not using their platform saying I’m not happy with the way black people, people of color are being treated. “For him doing it in that way really irked me”.
Former 49ers teammate Alex Boone, now with the Minnesota Vikings, had a harsher take, telling USA Today: “That flag obviously gives (Kaepernick) the right to do whatever he wants”.
During a 20-minute exchange with the press, Kaepernick said, “Cops are getting paid leave for killing people”. Kaepernick has been in the process of losing his starting job to journeyman Blaine Gabbert; no player has seen his stock plummet more in three years than Kaepernick.
“I have followed it”, Trump told Dori Monson on Seattle’s KIRO radio station.
Gabbert’s take on Kaepernick: “The lovely thing about this country is everyone is afforded the right to their own opinion”. He said no Viet Cong ever called and I’m not going to say – the “n” word.
Have you not seen a newscast or picked up a newspaper, Colin?
“He’s there to play football he’s not there to make a stand against anything else”, said David Bamber.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said that “players are encouraged but not required to stand during the playing of the national anthem”.
“But if I do, I know I did what’s right and I can live with that at the end of the day”, Kaepernick said.
“I’m sorry but @Kaepernick7 needs to learn the fact about police before running his dumba- mouth!”
Modkins’ first impression of Kaepernick’s debut Friday in the new offense: “I think Colin was a lot like the rest of our offense – inconsistent”.
Another thing I have to say.
The 49ers have since issued a statement amid the controversy Colin generated.

“Voltaire so eloquently stated, ‘I may not agree with what you say, but I’ll defend it until death your right to say it, ‘” John Harbaugh said. “When there’s significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it’s supposed to represent, this country is representing people the way that it’s supposed to, I’ll stand”.
