Colin Kaepernick on receiving death threats: Violence would prove my point
Colin Kaepernick wasn’t the least bit surprised about the backlash he got over his national anthem protest… and sadly, that included receiving death threats. To me, if something like that were to happen, you’ve proved my point. So, I think, again, (Kaepernick) is shedding light on the situation that is heinous and shouldn’t happen in this country. When he’s asked a question I think he should answer what his feelings are on those questions.

Kaepernick has not stood during the national anthem for six straight games in order to protest racial injustice in this country, including police brutality and police shootings. A youth football team in Texas received death threats after they collectively knelt before a game. He has continued his protest by taking a knee while “The Star-Spangled Banner” plays.
“There’s a lot of racism in this country disguised as patriotism and people want to take everything back to the flag but that’s not what we’re talking about”, Kaepernick said, via the Associated Press.
Kaepernick has the best-selling jersey on the team.
The 28-year-old football star says he is protesting racial inequality and injustice in the USA, including the actions of law enforcement towards minorities. “They don’t like to address the issue that is people of color being oppressed and treated unjustly”.
Associate professor of English at Columbia University, John McWhorter writes in an article appearing in the October 3rd issue forTimethat, “We must understand what Kaepernick is protesting”.
Forty-year-old Terence Crutcher was shot dead as he walked away from officers toward his SUV with his hands in the air.
Since his protest began, according to ESPN, players with the Seattle Seahawks, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Miami Dolphins have all joined in in one form or another. He said a website will also be set up to track where the money is donated, and how it is being spent.

Kaepernick has also pledged to donate the first $1 million he makes this season to charities that will help communities in need.
