Kaepernick’s jersey is now the top seller on NFL.com, beating out star Odell Beckham Jr. and popular rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Kapernick’s No.7 49ers jersey has become a top seller.
It’s unclear if this spike in jersey sales is just a two-week thing or will last the entire season. Outselling rookies Carson Wentz and Ezekiel Elliot as well as superstar wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown, the polarizing Kaepernick has gotten the attention of the National Football League as a whole. Kaepernick, 28, faced national attention after he refused to stand for The Star-Spangled Banner during a preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.
On Monday during the G20 Summit (Sept. 5, ) President Barack Obama defended the player’s right to protest.
What do you think about Kaepernick’s choice to kneel during the national anthem?
The Obama administration went from objecting to Colin Kaepernick’s protest of the national anthem to defending it in the span of one week. “He’s exercising his constitutional right to make a statement”, he said. And if nothing else, what he’s done is he’s generated more conversation around some topics that need to be talked about. There’s people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable.
Obama said that maybe some of the people who are criticizing the football player will eventually start seeing that ‘he has a point’.
‘That’s how we move forward, sometimes it’s messy but it’s the way democracy works’.
Forbes says 49er teammate Eric Reid kneeled with Kaepernick at a preseason game on September 1.
“It’s the least I can do”. “I’m not anti-American”, Kaepernick said after the game.
