Colin Kaepernick Talks National Anthem Protest, President Obama, Role on 49ers

That’s right, “Old Glory” is displayed in the dry heat of California’s Central Valley at the residence of Rick and Teresa Kaepernick, parents of the San Francisco 49ers quarterback who refuses to stand during the national anthem. Which is what I think our country stands for, which will hopefully drive the conversation to bettering the equal rights and treatment of African Americans and people of color.

Since his protest came to light, Kaepernick has been found support from President Obama and intense criticism elsewhere, with former National Football League player Rodney Harrison apologizing for saying Kaepernick “is not black”. “I have great respect with them”.

A possible seed to the rumor is the fact that Kaepernick’s girlfriend is Muslim.

Kapernick is no longer alone in his protests against honoring the American flag or the country’s national anthem.

“I want to thank everyone who has shown me love and support, it truly means a lot!”

Kaepernick, who says he intends to continue his protest, will get his chance Monday night when the 49ers open the season.

“You have to enter onto the scene one way”, O’Neal said.

“I support our players when they want to see change in society, and we don’t live in a flawless society”, he told the Associated Press. Kaepernick wrote. “The only way I can repay you for the support is to return the favor by donating all the proceeds I receive from my jersey sales back into the communities!” The initial shock of what the protest was about and the significance of that was lost in the action and the message wasn’t really addressed.

“I’ve seen that”, when asked about the rumor. I have a lot of respect for them.

“I’m not backing off”, said Tortorella, according to ESPN.com.

“I’ve had a lot of conversations with [activists and leaders] about how to address your issues practically and what reasonable solutions that we feel can be implemented, whether it’s legislation or in the community, and make sure these changes are happening”, Kaepernick said.
