Colin Powell denies inspiring Clinton’s private email server use

“Her people have been trying to pin it on me”, Powell said.

A federal judge on Friday rejected a request to force Hillary Clinton to submit to a sworn deposition in a lawsuit related to her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state, instead she will have to answer questions from a conservative legal advocacy group in writing.

Former US secretary of state Colin Powell has suggested that Hillary Clinton’s “people” have been attempting to pin the Democratic candidate’s email controversy on him.

It’s believed Powell was the first secretary of state to use electronic mail. Clinton reportedly claims that her forebear encouraged her on two separate occasions to use her personal e-mail account.

Clinton has said that she and Powell were in agreement on the use of private email by secretaries of state.

According to a scathing report by the State Department’s inspector general, Bentel, then a technology official in Clinton’s office, told junior staffers to never speak of Clinton’s email server again after they raised concerns.

“We are pleased that this federal court ordered Hillary Clinton to provide written answers under oath to some key questions about her email scandal”, Mr. Fitton said in a statement.

Asked Sunday why he thought Clinton continued to compare her choices to his, Powell replied, “Why do you think?” “It’s okay. I’m free”.

Last week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation sent notes of its interview with Clinton to lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

However, Powell said he did send the Democratic nominee a memo detailing his use of a personal AOL email account shortly after she took the role of secretary of state in 2009. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has led that charge, calling this month’s release of 44 previously unseen Clinton emails “more evidence that Hillary Clinton lacks the judgment, character, stability and temperament to be within 1,000 miles of public power”. Powell used a commercially available email account for unclassified messages but used a secured State Department computer for classified material. “This is just another lawsuit meant to try to hurt Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and so we are glad that the judge has accepted our offer to answer these questions in writing rather than grant Judicial Watch’s request”. Now, Powell appears to be growing increasingly testy with Clinton’s attempt to shift the blame for her problems.
