“A 70-year person with a long track record, unbridled ambition, greedy, not transformational, with a husband still d– bimbos at home (according to the NYP)”, Powell wrote, apparently referring to the New York Post.
The frank, biting version of Powell made public is thanks to private emails that appeared on dcleaks.com, a mysterious repository for hacked information suspected to be of Russian origin. In the email, Powell said Trump “is in the process of destroying himself, no need for the Dems to attack him”, BuzzFeed reported.
In her interview with the FBI into the use of the email server, Ms Clinton told investigators that Mr Powell had advised her to use a personal email account, according to notes of the interview disclosed to members of Congress by the bureau last month.
“That’s what the 99% believe”, Powell wrote.
In another exchange, Powell also criticized Clinton’s steps to handle her defense, saying that she should have merely told everyone “honestly what she had done and not tie me to it”.
He had to “throw a mini tantrum” at a party in the Hamptons to get the attention of Clinton aides over the issue. It also reveals Powell criticism of a book co-authored by Liz Cheney, who is the Republican nominee for Wyoming’s seat in the House of Representatives. It may be the latest example of a Russian entity potentially trying to influence the U.S. presidential election – in July, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it believed Russia was behind the hack of the Democratic National Committee’s internal emails right before they party’s convention. The leak was first reported by Buzzfeed News.
Powell also makes the claim that whatever Clinton touches, she “screws up with hubris”.
But it seems Powell was particularly annoyed that his name kept popping up in reports about Clinton’s ongoing scandals. House Democrats released emails between Powell and Clinton on September 7 and claimed they showed “a detailed blueprint on how to skirt security rules and bypass requirements to preserve federal records”.

He also excoriated Trump’s call for President Obama to disclose his original birth certificate to prove his citizenship. “No further comment at this time”, Peggy Cifrino said.
