The Sooners never were able to establish a running game, and by the end of the game they were without the two guys they had counted on all season to carry the ground game.
“How ’bout them Tigers, baby?”
Dabo Swinney was dancing in the locker room again.
Clemson absolutely throttled Oklahoma en route to a trip to the college football national championship game, and the players certainly seemed hyped up. “It won’t be much longer”. However, there were meetings to attend and a big game to play. The Spartans didn’t get a single first down in the entire game.

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson (4) poses with the Orange Bowl trophy following an NCAA college football semifinal playoff game against Oklahoma, Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, in Miami Gardens, Fla.
“It’s tough to beat us when we’re all on the same page and have each other’s back”, said Watson, who gives Clemson a double-edged threat.
His teammates did fine without him.
No. 1 Clemson and No. 2 Alabama more than validated their rankings with dominant showings in the New Year’s Eve semifinals.
The Tigers held nothing back. “The coaching job that they did was just wonderful and the performance of the team was outstanding”. Check out some of the highlights from Clemson’s 37-17 win in the Orange Bowl.
This season was an upgrade, but it ended similarly to past year, with a definitive loss to Clemson at bowl time.
“When they scored on the opening drive, that was the turning point”, he said. Bryant finished with four tackles and half of a sack.
Now, the Tide will try to prevent Clemson from becoming the first team in FBS history to finish 15-0.
