College Football Playoff: week 4 projections

The conference has four undefeated teams, with TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma. Illinois capitalized on Nebraska’s horrid late-game time management to win 14-13. Alabama finally looked like the usual Nick Saban version of Alabama in steamrolling Georgia.

One of the big questions in this game is whether Greyson Lambert’s newfound effectiveness at quarterback will hold up to Alabama’s defense. Michigan State and Ohio State both had solid wins, and Ole Miss struggled after beating Alabama last week.

The Buckeyes just keep winning. I think this was a case of plying down to their opponent. If he can avoid turning the ball over, Georgia has the edge in this one.

The other school in Indiana, Notre Dame, will also have a hard time getting into the playoff now as well. “I’ve spoken with campus leaders, State Highway Patrol, and Governor Nikki Haley, and feel confident we can play the game as scheduled”.

It’s not that Clemson was flawless in Saturday night’s win over Notre Dame, although the Tigers did dominate for three quarters before needing to stop a Fighting Irish rally.

With their losses, Florida, Clemson, Alabama and Arizona State all helped their stock with wins over those aforementioned four teams. It successfully aided an unexpected quarterback transition, and it paved the way for a breakout month from running back C.J. Prosise.

Aside from defensive end Shaq Lawson, whose matchup with Notre Dame’s offensive line will be fascinating to watch, Clemson’s strength is in its athletic secondary, and those players might have to adjust their roles in order to account for the Notre Dame run game.

The top 10 in college football is certainly going to look different after this week’s games.

Deshaun Watson is going to have a game soon in which he looks like the talent everyone thinks he is.

The college football rankings will see a major shakeup at the top after top 10 teams Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Georgia and UCLA lost on Saturday. We’ll continue to provide updates online and through broadcasts of the Tiger Tailgate Show and during the game on the radio broadcast and inside the stadium. Each team has had down moments, but they remain undefeated, and they all put together impressive wins on Saturday.

Let’s wrap up in Big 12 country.

Baylor may have given up 415 passing yards to Patrick Mahomes, but it demolished Texas Tech 63-35, scoring seven first-half touchdowns.

The fact that Texas Tech is 117th against the pass and 123rd against the run does not inspire confidence, I’ll admit.

There is a long way to go, and it is possible that the Big Ten title game will still be Ohio State-Wisconsin.
