A toy light saber carried by a man on a Long Island college campus was mistaken for a gun, setting off a brief scare Wednesday morning.

Officers finally found the occupant of the vehicle, also a student, at his off-campus job and established that the supposed weapon was a toy, Lewis said. A woman called Suffolk police at approximately 9:40 a.m after seeing what she thought was a man handling a weapon.
Many students took to Twitter to discuss the school’s lockdown.
College spokeswoman Kathryn Coley says the “rifle” was actually a light saber. “All students, faculty, and staff should resume normal activities”, it read.
The man and his lightsaber didn’t injure anyone, and no arrests were made.
According to police, the person had a lightsaber. The college was founded in 1912.

It isn’t the only Star Wars incident to occur on Long Island, however. At the time, authorities said, though he did pose a threat, the man still caused disturbance.
