College student found hanging in house, ragging blamed

A student of Al Qamar College of Nursing School in Gulbarga, her health has been in a critical state since the unfortunate incident.

No ragging reported, say college authorities.

An 18-year-old B.Sc student has ended life after been allegedly fed up of harassment and ragging by senior students.

According to the police, Hashinas, a second year BSc Microbiology student of MHES Arts and Science College, Cherandathoor, was found hanging inside the bathroom of her house. Meanwhile, family members allege that a ragging incident in college is the reason behind Hashinas’ fatal decision.

“Senior students would demand to know her name and act a little tough”.

Her family said that she told some of her classmates that she did not liked the college and that she did not wanted study there.

Police have started conducting a preliminary investigation into the case as no suicide note was found. Her family claims that the 19-year-old victim of ragging by college seniors. Aswathi was ragged by five seniors also hailing from Kerala.
