Colombia Military Plane Crash Kills Eleven

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — A Colombian military transport plane crashed in the country’s north on Friday, killing all 11 personnel aboard.

“We regret the bad plane accident… which has claimed the lives of 12 heroes of the Colombian airforce”, Santos said in a Twitter message, according to Agence France-Presse.

“My coronary heart is heavy with ache for the lack of these heroes who in achievement of their constitutional mandate have now flown a lot larger to hitch the heavenly squadron alongside the almighty”, Bueno stated in short remarks.

Later, Colombia’s air force issued a statement saying that a CASA-235 plane reported engine failure prior to the Friday crash, which led to the death of 11 people, leaving no survivors.

The air force announced an investigation into the crash, and the army cordoned off the entire sector, Press Latina reported.

It said the plane was produced it Seville in Spain in 1998, adding that it had no further information at this stage.
