The Rockies scored three in the first, and added another in the seconds, on a pair of home runs off Jordan Zimmermann, and some horrific defensive miscues by Jordan Zimmermann, Ryan Zimmerman and Ian Desmond.

Gonzalez was pulled in the sixth inning of the Rockies’ 15-6 loss to the Washington Nationals and was listed as day to day by the team.

The total is currently set at 10 when the struggling Nationals visit the Rockies Tuesday. You’ve got one of the best pitchers in the game out there it’s not going to be easy. “Working through some tough stuff in the pen right now”.

“My offspeed felt good but my command was a little off with the fastball”, Hale said. The Nationals also scored two runs on wild pitches and a Rockies’ balk led to another run.

Second baseman Danny Espinosa’s two-out double in the fourth gave the Nationals a 5-4 lead. Shortstop Ian Desmond had four RBIs for the Nationals and third baseman Yunel Escobar hit a two-run homer in the first and drove in three runs while scoring four.

RHP David Hale (left groin strain) was reinstated from the disabled list to start against the Nationals.

It was his 28th of the year and 15th since the All-Star break.

He was replaced in the lineup by Charlie Blackmon, who began the night on the bench because he wasn’t feeling well. RHP Chad Bettis, on the 15-day disabled list since mid-July because of inflammation in his pitching elbow, was slated to throw 80-85 pitches Thursday in a rehab start for Triple A Albuquerque.

Colorado ended a six-game slide with Sunday’s 5-0 victory over San Diego as Chris Rusin pitched a five-hitter for his first career shutout. Zimmermann is 5-0 with a 2.10 ERA and 46 strikeouts in his career against the Rockies.
