Colts’ Pagano says he was praising Luck

The Colts are 0-2 despite entering the season with Super Bowl aspirations and Luck has been brutal through Indianapolis’ first two games.

And nobody escaped the blame game.

“Turning the ball over, interceptions”, Andrew Luck said. No. Do we want to have the turnovers and the penalties and the self-inflicted negatives that are going on? No.

“Just have to take care of the football”, Pagano said.

Luck fumbled into the endzone was intercepted three times.

There are maybe 10 people on planet earth who can play the quarterback position as well as Andrew Luck, and that number is probably closer to three. His third came in the fourth quarter while trying to make something happen with a 10-point deficit. Gore has combined for 88 yards in the two defeats, and he lost a critical fumble against the Jets.

His absence didn’t have a major impact on the New York Jets’ offense, but a longer absence could.

Nick Folk missed a 48-yard field goal as time expired.

Indianapolis opened the second half with a drive that lasted almost 10 minutes and got all the way to the Jets 1 before Revis scooped up Frank Gore’s fumble. Then again, this could also just be the first in a few perceived shots that he took at his quarterback on Monday.

Darrelle Revis recovered in the end zone for the Jets.

Pagano reiterated how costly that was, saying, “Can’t turn the damn ball over”. “And when I said that I meant it. I’m not going nowhere”. The status of both players for Sunday’s game at Tennessee won’t be known until later in the week.

“I don’t know the severity of that one yet”, Bowles said.

But Luck and Co. slumped to a 0-2 win-loss record, as the Jets’ defence claimed three picks and forced two fumbles.

Marshall had seven receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown, and teammate Eric Decker added eight catches for 97 yards and a score.

But Fitzpatrick answered on the next series with a 15-yard scoring pass to Marshall to seal the victory. The Colts’ inactives were CB Darius Butler, CB Greg Toler, ILB Nate Irving, DT T.Y. McGill, T Denzelle Good, OLB Jonathan Newsome and NT Zach Kerr.

Here’s the deal with the Colts: they are built totally around their quarterback.

Tight end Dwayne Allen also missed the second half with an ankle injury. Cornerback Greg Toler (neck), Pagano said, could be a limited participant at practice this week is but remains day to day.
