Colts reach deal with OLB Ayers, finalize practice squad

The Indianapolis Colts set their 53 man roster last Saturday, but we all knew that the opening day roster would look a little bit different than that. Because of that, it’s certainly worth looking into for the Colts, and it sounds like they’re doing just that as they worked out Davis today.

The Indianapolis Colts continued to address their defense by signing free-agent outside linebacker Akeem Ayers.

Quarterback Russell Wilson #3 of the Seattle Seahawks fumbles as linebacker Akeem Ayers #56 of the St. Louis Rams recovers with under two minutes to play at CenturyLink Field on December 27, 2015 in Seattle, Washington.

Originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Davis has amassed 11 sacks, 23 tackles, and 3 forced fumbles in 38 games during his 4-year career.

The Colts have signed linebacker Akeem Ayers after he was cut by the Los Angeles Rams this weekend and released cornerback Neiko Thorpe as the corresponding roster move.
