Harbaugh said that Ted Monachino will make the move from Ravens linebackers coach to running the defense in Indianapolis.

The Colts haven’t wasted time changing up the coaching staff after retaining Chuck Pagano.

In this handout image provided by the NFL, Ted Monachino of the Baltimore Ravens poses for his NFL headshot circa 2011 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Monachino has been working with the linebackers in Baltimore for six years, and he was there for the Super Bowl victory in 2012.

Prior to his tenure with the Ravens, Monachino was with the Jaguars for four years. His name was in the discussion of taking over defensive duties in Indianapolis when Greg Manusky was relieved of his duties this week, according to Alper.

Pagano was the defensive coordinator during their two seasons together in Baltimore and the two share similar defensive philosophies.

The Colts are hoping that Monachino can help improve a defense that was 26th in yards allowed last season, 25th in points allowed, and was ranked 13th in overall efficiency per Football Outsiders.
