FOURTH! That means you are expected win against just about everyone, especially at home against UNRANKED teams, even if that unranked team is rival Iowa.

The league said Iowa State handled the postgame celebration consistent with Big 12 guidelines for sportsmanship and ethical conduct, adding that it considers the matter resolved.

The Des Moines Register columnist Randy Peterson suffered a compound leg fracture after the game, which had many wondering if the Conference would punish Iowa State.

Iowa State won’t face any penalties from the Big 12 after Thursday night’s court-storming incident that left a journalist with a broken leg.

“We were sorry to hear about the unfortunate accident with Des Moines Register reporter Randy Peterson and wish him a speedy recovery”.

Peterson also appeared on the Dan Patrick Show on Friday to discuss the incident.

ISU athletic director Jamie Pollard released a statement Thursday evening. Peterson was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Peterson tweeted early Friday that he believed he locked legs with someone. “Coach (Steve) Prohm and I have both personally spoken with Randy and have assured him that we can do whatever we can to help them both through what they are dealing with”.

But this is still going to rekindle the debate over an increasingly risky college basketball tradition.

Peterson said he wouldn’t want to see fans unable to celebrate like this.
