Williams and former rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight also were charged with stealing a photographer’s camera outside a Beverly Hills studio.
The incident, first reported by TMZ.com, involved a female employee at the Sportsmen’s Lodge hotel in Los Angeles.
The unidentified woman placed Williams under citizen’s arrest and officers transported him to jail, Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado said.
This latest charge is just one of many for the clearly troubled comedian and star of Scary Movie 5.

Katt Williams has found himself in trouble a few times in 2016 already. Beverly Hills police said the pair chased the photographer on September 5, 2014, and grabbed her camera. If convicted of robbery, Williams could receive a maximum sentence of seven years in prison. He has pleaded not guilty. He’s been choked out and stomped out, and was arrested in Atlanta back in April after allegedly fighting with a staff member at a seafood restaurant. According to 11Alive, authorities executed a search warrant at Williams’ home after his bodyguard, Corey Dixon, filed a report alleging that the funnyman assaulted him and held him against his will. The manager claimed to have been hit in the mouth with the salt shaker after Williams’ group was denied preferential seating.
