Alas, all good things must come to an end: early on Thursday afternoon, Comedy Bang Bang creator and star Scott Aukerman announced that the show would be coming to an end after five seasons on IFC.

The final 10 episodes of the series will air this fall, starting October 28 with two back-to-back episodes.

In the modern world of TV comedy, unique and alternative shows like Comedy Bang Bang often go underappreciated. The cult comedy series’ host Scott Aukerman announced the news today in a series of tweets (included below), promising “some insane stuff in the final ten [episodes]”. The series finale will air December 10 (accounting for a Thanksgiving preemption). “Scott and his team worked with our advertising partners in ways that were as buzzy as the jokes”, Caserta said.

Comedy Bang! Bang! debuted in 2012.

Aukerman expressed his love for the show following his announcement, stating “we’ve had a great run, and I couldn’t be more proud of the show”.
