Comedy Central Won’t Cancel Steve Rannazzisi’s “Breaking Dad” Tonight

The FX network issued a statement earlier this week about Rannazzisi’s confession and chose to continue airing episodes of “The League”.

The comedian told the story of being in the South Tower, working for Merrill Lynch on the 54th floor, when the first plane hit the North Tower.

After the New York Times reported inconsistencies in his story, Rannazzisi’s publicist released a statement saying, “As a young man, I made a mistake that I deeply regret and for which apologies may still not be enough”. He and described the “pandemonium” he witnessed when he ran out into the street.

“I didn’t know what it was about, I thought he’d want to come on and talk about his [Comedy Central stand-up] special – turns out it was much more dire”, Maron said, addressing the controversy at the beginning of Thursday’s episode. “This was inexcusable”.

Buffalo Wild Wings, which had just signed Rannazzisi, also announced it was dropping him from their commercials, according to the New York Daily News.

Steve Rannazzisi’s commercial was dropped by Buffalo Wild Wings after it was revealed he lied about escaping from the World Trade Center during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The League did fit in very well with Buffalo Wild Wings and our persona and what we do”. When working with public figures, she said companies have to consider how to carefully evaluate them.

“There’s always a risk and there’s always things that you need to be aware of”, Smith said.

The comedian also has a stand-up special scheduled for this weekend (Saturday, September 19) on Comedy Central titled “Breaking Dad”. The channel said on Wednesday that it was determining how to move forward.
