Now the 2016 Toyota Prius is coming out and with it comes some bad and good news.

Emissions are also reportedly going to be lower, and all in all, this is a model that’s going to leave a significant mark on the market thanks to its improved capabilities and the strong focus that Toyota have on the quality of its production. Toyota created a new, vibrant exterior color, “Hypersonic Red”, to join six others in the Prius palette.

It’s also one of the first models to feature the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) system, which uses pre-collision braking, pedestrian detection, full-speed dynamic radar cruise control, and a lane departure alert system with steering assist to keep you in your lane when attention strays. As the 2015 Prius is capable of 48 mpg city, 51 mpg highway, and 50 mpg combined, that could mean a combined rating of 55 mpg.

Theres a new, smaller and more energy-dense, nickel-metal hybrid battery (lithium ion has been eschewed by the firm). Details about these mission-critical components are scarce right now, but the vehicle should sport a four-cylinder internal-combustion engine with a thermal-efficiency score of more than 40 percent!

The Toyota Prius is usually praised for its eco-friendly features and economical gas consumption but, is criticized for its looks.

But Toyota is hopeful that with its sleeker image and by adding passenger and cargo space, eco-conscious consumers will come back with open arms.

In fact, the new Prius actually uses a brand new platform altogether in order to deliver the ultimate driving experience on the road, and drivers might need some time to adjust to the way the vehicle works compared to the previous models – but those changes will definitely be worth it in the long run. The new Prius is 2.4 inches (6.1 centimeters) longer, 0.6 inches wider and 0.8 inches lower than the model it replaces.

However, the interior layout of the auto remains the same. Toyota claims to have changed the experience from the driver’s seat and injected a lot more excitement into the Prius this time around; with a new double-wishbone rear suspension arrangement, more rigid body structure, and hopefully some quite different tuning should make the 2016 Prius a better-driving vehicle.

So these are the downsides to the 2016 Toyota Prius and the main plus side is that you can expect to get about 50mpg from the vehicle. The themes are present up front as well, as the 2016 Prius wears a jumble of precise angles, cut lines, and eye-catching LED headlamps, making sure the new version doesn’t get lost in the crowd.
