Comic-Con 2016: The Walking Dead season 7 trailer revealed

The second half reveals a New World Order under Negan’s rule, and introduces fan favorite comic character King Ezekiel (played by Khary Payton) and his pet tiger Shiva, who rule over another community known in the comics as The Kingdom.

A packed crowd in Comic-Con’s 6,500-seat main venue was treated to new footage of season seven, although there were no big clues on the identity of Negan’s victim. The end of the first game is relatively straightforward (and we won’t spoilt it) with only one real “ending” – even though it can go down in number of ways – and therefore, only one starting point for the second season. “There’s a lot of that involved in season 7”. Cohan said that filming the premier of Season 7 was one of the most physically hard experiences she’s had on the show so far, but the exhaustion they felt only helped make the scenes more terrifying.

It’s definitely not the season 6 premiere in terms of quarries with 40,000 walkers in it. Every single season premiere is different. We’ll meet the victim in the first episode, promised Nicotero: “Obviously, we’ll find out in the first episode. It’s not finished yet so I really can’t say”.

The Walking Dead is a multimedia phenomenon.

Oh, and they showed off this attractive concept art, a gentle nod back to the reveal for the original season back at SDCC 2011.

“It’s a s***ty way to start the season”, Lincoln told media during the conference. Later we see familiar faces like Carol, Morgan, and Negan’s men. Not only did he shoot that Savior, but he shot him passionately and excessively, nearly as a crucial catharsis, tacitly conceding the idea that his “never kill” ethos could have condemned his friends to frightful deaths.

AMC announced today from Comic-Con International that The Walking Dead Season 7 will premiere Sunday, October 23 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. As in previous seasons, the show’s seventh season of 16 episodes will air in two parts, with the first eight episodes kicking off October 23 and the final eight returning February 2017.
