Earlier this week a handle claiming to be “Anonymous Operations” posted a video on YouTube with the message: “The more the United States appears to be targeting Muslims, not just radical Muslims, you can be sure that ISIS will be putting that on their social media campaign”. The speaker singles out Donald Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

On a day it had previously set aside for trolling ISIS, hacktivist collective Anonymous spared some time to launch an attack on the website for Donald Trump’s trademark New York City skyscraper.

The disappearance of at least some Trump branding from the multi-billion-dollar development on the outskirts of Dubai comes as concerns over his comments grow in the Middle East, a region in which the businessman long has sought money-making opportunities. Another billboard declaring the development “The Beverly Hills of Dubai” still stood nearby.

One of the Twitter accounts for the hacker group said that it briefly took down a website for Trump Towers in NY on Friday, saying that it was a “statement against racism and hatred”.

Niall McLoughlin, DAMAC Properties spokesman, did not comment on why the Trump name and image has been removed from a billboard and sign at the entrance of the construction site.

Earlier this week, Trump said the USA should bar all Muslims from entering the U.S.as a measure to prevent terror attacks, “until our country’s representatives can figure out what’s going on”.

“We are assessing the legal dimension of our relationship with the Trump brand”, a statement from Kural said.
