Comparison Video Shows Peter Dinklage and Nolan North as Destiny’s Ghost
As most Destiny players know, today is a big day for Bungie’s latest and hugely successful MMO/FPS hybrid.

With last night’s Destiny 2.0 update came the introduction of Ghost dialogue performed by [REDACTED], replacing the heavily criticised lines from Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage.
With the release of the voice performance of Nolan North in the upcoming Destiny’s expansion The Taken King, something has to be shared while the fans weigh in. One brand new feature the patch brings is the booting of Peter Dinklage in favour of Uncharted stalwart Nolan North – who has taken over duties as the voice of your AI companion Ghost.
But now, after the 2.0 Patch change, we can finally look at the performances back to back and ask the most important questions of all. In fact, I don’t think it’s a particular improvement, with the otherwise exceptional voice actor seemingly struggling just as much when it comes to voicing the odd and sometimes clumsy Ghost.
Especially when it seems that Destiny’s story (and inherently, its dialogue) seems like it could’ve been far better than it now is.
What feels clear, however is that the commonality between both performances-the script-may have been more responsible for any of Dinklage’s awkwardness than the quality of his voicework. We’ve already heard some of North’s new lines before, but how do the two stack up side by side?
Ghost’s role was diminished in the Destiny expansions after the criticisms leveled at Dinklage’s performance, so maybe North won’t prove to be too distracting in The Taken King. His delivery was flat but there’s a gravitas to it. North, on the other hand, sounds a little like C3PO’s cheeky younger nephew.
