Cricbuzz, one of the leading cricket news and information destinations on web and mobile, was on Monday named as the title sponsor for the upcoming India-ri Lanka Test series.

However, the belligerent cricketer admits that he didn’t perform well on the two opportunities camt o him in 2012 and 2015, but it completely doesn’t mean that he isn’t talented enough to be a good Test pick. Kohli doesn’t. And India opener Murali Vijay believes it will be a good challenge for the batters to back the skipper’s tactic when the Test series against Sri Lanka begins next week. Angelo Mathews is doing well, there is (Lahiru) Thiramanne and a lot of talent in the team.

“It’s going to be tough for us for India plays good cricket and it is playing well at the moment”.

After Kumar Sangakkaras retirement post the second Test, Sri Lanka will be without two of their most experience batsmen – Mahela Jayawardene is already retired – and Vijay opines that India will have the upperhand on that count.

“We didn’t do well against Pakistan and it was very disappointing overall”, said Jayasuriya.

Sri Lanka’s transitional phase has been marked by young players struggling to stay consistent at the top level, and a high percentage of domestic performers have failed in internationals.

“If you start playing with youngsters, I think we have to give them about six months and make sure they get to play, only then will they come up with confidence”. It is the first time for us to play in the sub-continent and with a home series coming up, it’s going to be an exciting time for the team and for every individual because it’s going to test our character.

Vijay made a strong comeback with a wonderfully crafted 150 at Fatullah against a rejuvenated Bangladesh pace attack and the opener wishes to take the momentum forward.

“Just enjoy the game and give your best, keep it simple”.

“Playing global cricket is itself a challenge. Every aspect has it’s own charm and challenges, so obviously we as a player have to lift our game according to the situation”, he said. Indians will play three Test matches and two T20 games on the tour.
